Vocation & CallingWhat sort of work should I do? Does God want me to take up this job?
Why does my work feel meaningless? Am I in the wrong career? Is it justifiable to be ambitious? Should I cruise in my job and invest more of my resources in ministry and relationships outside work? This session seeks to address the issue underlying some of these questions. We hope to examine the biblical meaning of, and views on, calling and work. |
Session 2A: Relationships at WorkWhat should I do when I don't think my colleague/boss is doing the right thing? How do I respond to competition and conflict in the workplace?
I've too much on my plate but I don't dare to speak up. What should I do? I don't want to be the odd (Christian) one out among my colleagues. How can I be a witness for Christ without being ostracised? How can I be salt and light in the marketplace? This session considers some issues commonly faced by young working adults in the culture and environment of their workplace. |
Session 2B: Stewardship of ResourcesNow that I’m earning my own income, what should I do with it?
Am I allowed to spend on myself, shop or go on a holiday? How much should I save and give to church and charity? Should I invest or buy insurance? Or should a Christian eschew all that? I now have less time to do other things, I want the weekends all for myself. How can I observe rest / the Sabbath amidst my work demands? How can I be a good steward of relationships with my family and significant others? How do I steward my gifts and talents at work and in ministry? This session considers a Biblical framework, practical tips and perspectives on how young adults could manage their resources as a working adult. |
