Jimmy Lee
With two decades of experience as a Senior Prison Officer, Jimmy holds a strong belief that his work contributes to the larger mission of keeping Singapore safe, and is inspired by being able to make a positive difference to the lives of the inmates and the society at large.
Values which have guided Jimmy during the course of his career as a Prison Officer are second chances, as well as a sense of duty to the nation and community. Through the collective action of individuals, Jimmy aspires towards a society where every offender who enters the prison system returns to the community with his life transformed, and is in turn given second chances by society to lead a useful and productive life. Jimmy is currently the Director, Corporate Communication and Relations (CCR) of the Singapore Prison Service (SPS). He leads his team in formulating and implementing effective communications policies, strategies and tactics to establish and uphold the SPS brand. Jimmy also advises the SPS management on all protocol and heritage matters, public perceptions of the organisation, and the internal employee-communications system. Additionally, Jimmy oversees all publicity, communications and public relations for the Yellow Ribbon Project (YRP), a national campaign launched in 2004 to engage the community in accepting ex-offenders and their families, giving them a second chance at life. Before assuming the post of Director CCRB, Jimmy held numerous leadership and command positions such as Superintendent of Prisons and Head of Staff Units in SPS HQ. Jimmy’s favourite bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths." He strongly believes that GOD will always have a plan for him and he must approve of God’s ways, even when he can’t comprehend them. God’s wisdom, power, and goodness guides Jimmy in all his decisions and direction in life. |
